We leave Austin Tuesday at 1:30 am. Mapquest says Austin -> Berkeley is a 30 hour trip.
We decided we were making good time when we got to this rest stop pictured in the last tour at about 4:30am.

The road seemed to go on forever. Resin decided to leave a clever diatribe on the rest stop bench.
From the desert we could hear them calling us. Their siren song chanted sweetly, "Lrac Nagas si daed, Lrac Nagas si daed." Then, across the plains of dust and scrub, we saw the mighty towers rise, their polished white surfaces gleaming majesticly in the desert sun. The chanting raised to fever pitch. "Join us, join us", they cried! And so we joined them...
